There is something spectacular about the play of light that you've captured in this photograph: it reverberates in the sharp angles of the shadows seen in the lines of the sand, in the posts of wood, in the railings of the wharf - they almost pop out of the picture with the distinction; whilst the sparkle across the water is beyond definition. The way the light refracts across the sea really does make it glitter beautifully, and provides so much colour it's astounding.
I adore the clouds in this photograph, as well - the way they provide a plain white backdrop for the wharf is very effective for drawing attention to it, without making it look complicated, and yet towards the top of the photograph, they're broken and smaller, providing a continuous balance of detail from the top to the bottom of the image.
All in all, I am in love with this, I really am.
